Early life
Knocta was born from a tear that fell from the Tower of the Gods during the god genocide, along with Inua and Pythia. His egg was discovered in a volcano by the local peoples after they prayed to the volcano itself asking for a savior. Each woman from the volcano worshiping tribe took turns caring for him, referring to him as the blessed child, or child of the flames. He was raised to be strong, vicious, and even a tad spoiled, for everything he could want, the tribe made sure to bring to him at whatever the cost.
When Pythia and Inua first arrived at Knocta's homeland, he was insulted over how welcoming his people were to the two newcomers. He challenged Inua, causing a fight to break out between the two with the tribe leader monitoring the victory. Both collapsed at the same time due to exhaustion, which caused the leader to call a draw. Knocta was unhappy that he did not lean to his favor, so he vowed to get his revenge no matter the cost.
Knocta would attempt a few different attacks on Inua and Pythia to no success. During one of his planned duels, the three were ambushed and outnumbered by true foes that wanted to end Inua and Pythia for good. Realizing this, Knocta stopped his spar to shield Pythia from a fatal attack, as he only wanted to win a fight, and not see the other two slain. He survived taking a weapon to the face, but lost his left eye. Pythia and Inua were both grateful for Knocta's sacrifice, and vowed to nurse him back to health, becoming good friends with him in the process. The three have been loyal to each other ever since.
Reclaiming the tower
Because Knocta was destined to destroy the genocidal beast that lay waiting in the Tower of the Gods, Pythia and Inua did everything they could to convince him to travel with them during each encounter. It wasn't until he witnessed one of the Seven Vessels attack his volcano tribes that he agreed, for the destruction and death it caused fueled a spiteful rage in him. By the time the three had fallen all seven of the Seven Vessels, he was both worshiped and feared by many mortals.
Knocta's original body suffered the same fate as Pythia and Inua, with his body being crushed inside-out from the presence of the genocidal god. When the mortals cried out for him, so too did the souls of the fallen members of his tribe, which made his broken body stand back up out of defiance before prayers made the three ascend to godhood. When the genocidal beast was finally slain, Knocta saw the rain of souls pour out of its body, just like the souls of his people did out of the vessel that attacked them.
The role of the reaper
Even with the genocidal beast slain, Knocta realized that the three new gods had a new issue at hand; the mortals that perished throughout the reign of the beast and its seven vessels had no where to go. He knew that over time, the spirits would grow restless wandering the mortal lands, risking them combining into a new type of genocidal beast. Both Pythia and Inua mulled over what to do, but to Knocta, it was clear-- he decided to leave the Tower of the Gods in the hands of his two friends in order to create a realm for the dead.
With his newfound godhood, Knocta began to create a new realm of his own, which he dubbed the Underealm. He would travel back and forth between realms, reaping souls and bringing them to the Underealm as a place of afterlife. Unfortunately, as the number of reaped souls grew, so did conflicts-- because there were no consequences for death in the realm of the dead, the souls began to rebel against Knocta, torturing each other regardless of his orders. In order to combat this, he created a lower section of the underealm to separate the sinners from the rest of the souls.
As more gods were created by Pythia and Inua, Knocta began to redirect devoted souls to the ones they praised most throughout their lives. He devised a method to weigh a soul against one of his heavy feathers on a scale to deem if it was worthy of rising to the heavens, or was weighted down by too much sin. Eventually, the flood of souls into the Underealm got to be overwhelming for Knocta alone, so he put the ever-loyal Anubis in charge of gathering souls for him.
Pyramid scheme
Originally, Knocta built the Underealm so that the souls who were sent there, stayed there. As the number of gods and heavens grew, however, he found himself overwhelmed with the task of organizing who was supposed to be sent where, and if they deserved a heaven or hell. Knocta devised another system along with his weighing of the soul; if the soul fails the weight test, he would offer them a second chance to earn their freedom back through labor and good deeds. Knocta then would use them as his own follower to command until the soul becomes lighter-- though he makes the occasional excuse that he "forgot".
Personality
Knocta is cunning and spends more time coming up with schemes than he does doing his actual job. He talks smooth and works towards his own personal gain-- though, he will go out of his way to make a genuine effort for those he is close to. He's quick to antagonize, and quick to joke about situations, even if its the wrong place or the wrong time.
As much as he acts unbothered and aloof, Knocta has a soft side to him, where his feelings can get hurt rather easily. He also struggles with interacting with children, not knowing quite sure how to act.
He also has a bad habit of passing out in sexual or sensual situations.
