Lunar Werewolves are an open species of werewolf that are commonly found in Vethfolnia! They thrive in large packs within deep forests and old taigas, carving their homes out of caves or building shelters with downed trees.

The most noteworthy fact about these types of werewolves is their two forms; their day form, which has a more humanoid appearance, and their night form, which turns them into giant, wolf-like monsters. This larger form can only be achieved when their skin comes in contact with the light from the moon.

Their human day forms always have claws, wolf-like feet, fur up to their thighs, long ears, and a long tail. Both forms have razor sharp teeth, which can transform others into a werewolf form with just a single bite. They cannot, however, transform their rivals, the Nightback vampires, for their bites are poisonous to each other.

Making Your Own

Here's some things to keep in mind when you make your own lunar werewolf!

•Being a lunar type of werewolf, light from the moon is what causes their transformation. They can still stay in their day form at night as long as the light doesn't physically shine on them!

•As werewolves, their bites can affect anyone else, like humans and other species. Tribes of full blooded werewolves usually refer to those who have been bit or born from a werewolf and another parent as "half bloods".

•Full blood werewolves are easily identifiable during the day, because they have a furry lower half, a long tail, long ears, and claws, as opposed to humans. All full bloods have these features!

•Typically, when transformed, the werewolves fur and markings are the same as their hair color during the day. Normal colors are often brown, gold, white, black, gray or a rusty red!

•Lunar werewolves and nightback vampires have had a blood feud with each other's tribes since ancient times-- but that may not be the case for every individual! Some Romeo and Juliet cases have popped up between the two here and there. They just have to make sure they don't poison each other!

•As they are werewolves, males usually have a furry sheathe and a knot when fully erect. The knot usually doesn't cause issues with other members of the werewolf tribe... but can be an issue breeding with other species, like humans and other Vethfolnia groups.
