Rougarous are an open species monster commonly found in the swamps of Vethfolnia! They are strong, large, vicious beasts that are very territorial.

Rougarous often live alone, or in very, very small groups. Though they are an only male species, they're able to breed with each other and other males, rearing one egg at a time.

Aside from their large, monstrous bodies, noticeable features they have are long horns, thick scales, and a mossy-like mane that runs down their back that acts as camouflage as they drift through dark swampy waters.

They also have a large crop section in their throat for storing prey for later, as well as horrible strength they use to rip through the swampy bramble, or against their rivals, the river nymphs.

Making Your Own

Here's some things to keep in mind while making your rougarou!

•Rougarous have long, mossy manes for camouflage in murky waters, but can style it how they choose.

•All rougarous have large, alligator or crocodile-like bodies, with a soft underbelly and large scales plating their back, arms, legs and tail. Their hide is stupidly thick.

•All rougarous have a pocket in their gullet where they can store food and other items. It can stretch really wide and can hold a lot!

•The rougarous are extremely territorial, and do not get along with river girls well. Some will try to terrorize river girls from using their streams, or uproot their tribes from a lake so they can call it their own.

•All rougarous are male, but can still breed with each other via a slit-like opening at the base of their vent. They usually can't produce offspring with other beasts unless its a unique situation or magic is involved.
